A striking one-of-a-kind necklace made from a vintage Austrian crystal button transformed into an ornate statement pendant. A delicate blush-pink glass flower sits on a pale pearlescent face with sparkling crystal accents, framed in richly textured antiqued metalwork.
A long faceted clear crystal drop hangs beneath for a chandelier-inspired finish, on a mixed antiqued-metal chain with a decorative pearl and crystal station. The reverse retains its original button shank, a lovely clue to its earlier life.
About the origin: After the Second World War, Austria became one of Europe's great centres for costume jewellery, thanks to its world-famous crystal-cutting tradition. Pieces stamped "Austria" or "Made in Austria" were exported around the world in the 1950s and 1960s and are known for their bright, precisely cut stones.
